America desperately needs an effective opposition now more than ever. Donald Trump and his cronies are routinely breaking the law, ignoring due process, and tearing up the Constitution. The nation demands elected officials with conviction and backbone to fight back against this, even if that comes at great personal cost to themselves.
But, sadly, it’s clear there’s little backbone in the cowardly, navel-gazing, and decrepit Democrats. Even after the chaos, cruelty, and horror of the last few months, voters still prefer Republicans over Democrats. Recent polling made grim reading for Democrats hoping for a burst in popularity, with 41% of Americans having a favorable view of Republicans, compared to just 36% approving of Democrats.
Now, as per a new report titled “The D.N.C. Is in Chaos and Desperate for Cash” in The New York Times, the DNC is going into the 2026 primary season with little funding and no clear plans to remedy that. The story details the “struggles” the DNC faces as it continues to reel from the crushing 2024 election defeat and its inability to oppose the Trump regime.
Bye bye Dems?
Just when you thought the current state of the Democratic Party couldn’t get any worse…

Reports say the DNC is out of money, and top officials are now talking about taking out loans to cover the bills.

In terms of raw numbers, the report claims that between Jan. and Apr. 2025, the DNC’s funds shrank by $4 million, while over the same period, the RNC raised a colossal $29 million. Fingers are being pointed, specifically at DNC leader Ken Martin, who Dem officials see as blundering through the job with little finesse, ignoring donors, boosting his cronies, and picking needless fights with the likes of gun safety activist David Hogg.
All this has led to major fundraisers pulling back, meaning their election war chest is rapidly diminishing and may lead to the party pleading for temporary loans in order to put up a strong campaign in the 2026 mid-terms. Democrats sound frustrated, with Rep. Mark Pocan bluntly saying: “This is worse than some high school student council drama.”
Kamala Harris’ 2024 campaign finance chairman Rufus Gifford agrees, saying: “What they are seeing is headline after headline of incompetence and infighting, and I think that is a real problem not just for the D.N.C. but for the larger Democratic brand. We need to come together and focus on the issues at hand. That’s got to happen now. And I mean today. And if that can’t happen, we need to shift course.”
The frustrating thing is that there’s a wellspring of enthusiasm and effective campaigners and candidates the party is wilfully ignoring. Centrist higher-ups turn their nose up at the likes of Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio Cortez drawing huge crowds for their speeches, and don’t seem to be in any hurry to capitalize on the widespread enthusiasm for NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.
Instead, they’ll continue to glumly boost unpopular dinosaurs like Andrew Cuomo, Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer – politicians even the Democrats are sick of, let alone the general public. The DNC is going to have to evolve or die and, frankly, at this point, “die” is looking like the much more realistic option.
